Reuse • Access • Community Redistribution
Giving Gear a Second Life while Creating Access
Carve Bunnies is partnering with DonateNYC and DSNY’s reuse mission to help keep usable goods out of landfills focused on sustainability, waste diversion, and increasing access to outdoor recreation and essential goods through public community activations across New York City.
Our initiative supports circular economy and waste diversion efforts by extending the life cycle of usable goods and keeping materials in circulation within local communities.
Our Reuse Mission
Reuse Is More Than Sustainability — It Is Access.
Carve Bunnies believes reuse is more than sustainability — it is access.
Many people want to participate in outdoor recreation but cannot afford the gear needed to get started. Through our reuse initiatives, we help remove that barrier by collecting gently used gear, outerwear, accessories, and essential supplies from the community and redistributing them responsibly.
Our goal is to reduce waste, extend the life of usable items, and support communities that are often left out of outdoor spaces.
What We Collect
We Accept Clean, Gently Used Items Including:
Snowboard Jackets and Pants
Goggles, Gloves, Helmets, and Winter Accessories
Snowboards, Skis, Boots, and Bindings in Usable Condition
Outdoor Apparel and Outerwear
Backpacks and Gear Bags
School Supplies and Select Community-Use Items
Community Gear Exchange
Helping Gear Move Back Into the Community.
Our Community Snowboard Gear Exchange creates a space where riders can drop off gear they no longer use, exchange items with others, or help new riders access equipment they may not otherwise be able to afford.
This initiative is part of our broader Access the Slopes program, which focuses on lowering barriers to winter recreation and helping more women and underserved community members experience the outdoors.
Who We Serve
Donated Items May Support:
When local needs are met, select surplus items may also support Carve Bunnies’ global donation work with rural schools and community programs abroad.
Tracking Our Impact
Transparent Reuse. Real Community Impact.
Carve Bunnies tracks donated and redistributed goods to support transparency and impact reporting.
This allows us to measure how many items are kept in use, how many community members are served, and how our work contributes to reuse and waste diversion goals.
Partner With Us
Reuse Works Better With Community Partners.
We welcome collaboration with businesses, brands, community organizations, schools, shelters, and public agencies interested in reuse, sustainability, and community access.
Together, We Can Keep Usable Goods in Circulation.
Together, we can keep usable goods in circulation, reduce waste, and create more pathways for women, youth, and underserved communities to access the outdoors.
Carve Bunnies is proud to support a more sustainable, connected, and inclusive New York City.
